Local artist Joan Damiani presents a new exhibition of photographs, “Furgary: The Texture of a Time Gone By.” The North Bay of the Hudson River in Columbia County N.Y., has been the home of the Furgary Boat Club for more than a century. No one knows the history, only that it has been handed down to those most worthy of carrying on the traditions. The shanties are constructed of old embossed tin ceiling or driftwood and adorned with the trophies of the sportsmen such as antlers, skulls and the venerable decoys. Furgary Boat Club is no more, but the images will both stir and fascinate you. At J Damiani Gallery, 237 Warren Street.
